Security is job one for us. Materials to be shredded are locked in a rolling container by your staff and transported to the point of service or pickup. Our trucks are equipped with an automated dumping and processing system that does not require the driver to come into contact or view the information outside of the actual shredding unit. The equipment we operate can shred/process multiple full containers at the same time. Manual feeding is not required. Shredding can be witnessed via a video monitor and every invoice includes a document of destruction for your own records.

Protect your company and customer records from identity theft:

  • Identity fraud is reported to impact costs to the tune of 47.6 Billion to businesses at $4,800 per victim
  • In 2004, 9.3 million Americans--or one in every 25 adults--were victims of identity theft, according to a report by the Better Business Bureau and Javelin Research
  • Washington State has one of the highest incidents in the U.S., according to government figures.
  • A Michigan State University study found that 51 percent of all identity thefts occur in the workplace, usually perpetrated by people hired to perform low-level tasks, such as data entry.

Protect your company and employees from identity theft:

  • FACTA states that any employer whose action or inaction results in the loss of employee information can be fined by federal and state government, and sued in civil court.
  • An employee is entitled to recover actual damages sustained if their identity is stolen due to the employer's inaction, or statutory damages up to $1,000.
  • Employees may also bring class-action suits against employers for actual and punitive damages. In addition, federal fines of up to $2,500 per employee, and state fines of up to $1,000 per employee also may be levied.
  • Effective June 1, 2005: FACTA (or Fact Act) is the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, a BRAND NEW federal law designed to reduce the risk of consumer fraud and identity theft by improper disposal of consumer information.

FACTA Disposal Rule:

FACTA is the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rule requiring the destruction of consumer information prior to disposal, specifically singling out:

  • Lenders
  • Insurers
  • Employers
  • Landlords
  • Government Agencies
  • Mortgage Brokers
  • Doctors
  • CPAs
  • Dentists
  • Automobile Dealers

It requires the destruction of ALL consumer information before it is discarded. It applies to virtually every person and business in the United States and potentially severe penalties await violators.
